So many of my coaching clients often come to their coaching sessions asking me if I’m going to make them ‘blog!’ When I first started out I’ll admit that I personally felt the pain and dread of having to commit to writing every single week. I think it must have been the fear I have stored in my cell memory from my school days of assignments and homework.
I’ve since come to experience the enormous benefits that blogging and content creation can have for my business. So, as your friend and online business coach, let me give it to you straight ...YES, you need to be blogging or creating FREE content of some sort (Facebook Live, podcast, Youtube Channel, email mail outs, webinars, mini courses, ppt in’s) every single week. Here’s why ...
Why your coach is telling you to blog
It builds trust with your audience. You get to position yourself as an expert in your field and show your audience that you know what you’re doing. When you offer quality advice for FREE, your audience begins to trust you more and will be more likely to spend money with you.
Reminds your audience that you’re alive and well and open for business. The reality is that your clients aren't always going to come looking for you. They have enough shit to worry about and the world is a distracting place to live. If you’re creating content for them, you have a reason to contact them, so make something great and get it into their inbox, social feed and life ... show them that you have something that they need.
Consistency is key. Right now there are a bunch of people who are following your business and considering spending money with you ‘one day’. If you can consistently show up for them and keep reminding them of your valuable offerings and how you can improve their life, then you’re slowly taking steps towards convincing them to jump in with you. Show up and be reliable.
Most people think they can just use their blog as their own personal journal and update their audience on the random shit that is happening in their business. Here’s my thoughts on that - no one cares! Your blog is about your audience, make it about them. Here are 3 ways you can title and structure your blog content to ensure you win every time:
Sell an outcome. What will you teach them?
Solve a problem. How can you make their life easier?
Offer a new opportunity. What value can you add to their life?
