Do you find yourself sitting down to get work done but have no idea where to start or how to make it all happen?
Yep, I feel ya! I’ve been there the last few weeks, watching the to-do list grow and the emails flooding in whilst having little to no motivation to take any sort of action.
Life can be overwhelming at times and unless you have the right tools to cope, it can be easy to find yourself off track, down and out or straight up over it.
Lucky for us, life is ever changing and nothing stays the same for very long. So with a few good coping strategies, it can be easy to shift your stuck energy and find your way back to a path of productivity, joy, and ease.
Here are a few of my top tips to help you return to your natural state.
Accept and love it all. Life is full of ups and downs, deaths and rebirths, storms and rainbows. It’s one hell of a ride and totally unpredictable. The more we resist the flow of life the more pain we cause ourselves. The goal is to love and accept whatever is happening in your life right now. It doesn’t mean you have to live like that forever but the sooner you allow it to ‘just be’, the quicker you will be able to move through the stuckness and return to a place of ease. By becoming the observer of the experience, be it a shitty job, heartbreak, knock back in your business or lack of financial security, you put yourself in a position to recreate your reality from a clearer perspective. Let go of the story or the reason for why it is happening and just find love and acceptance for all of it.
Set clear intentions. Once you come to a place of acceptance you are ready to reset your intentions for your life, relationships, financial situation, business or whatever it is that you’re feeling stuck in. Take some time to sit down and write out what it is that you want for your life. Make a big long list, write a letter to yourself, journal or make a dream board of pictures (whatever suits you,) and get super clear about what it is that you want to create for yourself and your life. Once you are clear on exactly what it is that you want for your life you are in a better place to receive it.
Feel it in your body and be ready to take action. Now that you know what you want for your life, you can begin to remember the feeling of what it would feel like to live that new reality. The goal is to get comfortable with the life that you want to be living. Close your eyes for a moment or two and imagine what it would be like to wake up tomorrow in the life of your dreams. How do you walk? What do you do? What are you wearing? Who are you with? What does it feel like? Let the images run through your mind and the allow the feelings to flood your body. Once you connect with the emotion of want you want you will feel more excited and motivated to bring it into reality. By envisioning the end goal we become more inspired to take action in the now, knowing what is waiting for us. Remember, you don’t have to do it all in one day. Just take one small step in the direction of your goal today and be ready to take massive action when the opportunities arise, because they will, especially now that you’re super clear about your intentions.
