Amongst the many weird and wonderful tales that result from the launch of a start-up business, having your emerging print magazine stocked in the national transit lounges of Virgin Australia Airlines is one of the more unbelievable.

Kaylene Langford’s persistence and awareness of the importance of opportunity led to StartUp Creative magazine being promoted in the enterprise of one of her own entrepreneurial heroes, Richard Branson, after only its second print issue.

‘If we could get our magazine in those lounges, not only would we be able to leverage off the Virgin Lounge name, but we would get our magazine in front of some really cool people.’
