NAIDOC WEEK 2025

In Australia we celebrate NAIDOC week the first week of July each year. As a proud First Nations woman, I’m honoured to work with so many incredible First Nations businesses, organisations and programs that strive to empower and elevate the voices of our mob all year round but in particular this coming week.

For me, NAIDOC Week is about sharing and listening to the stories of our First Nations people, celebrating their creativity, resilience and world views as the oldest, continuous living culture on earth. By elevating their voices and stories we inspire a future vision for our country where Indigenous voices are not only heard but lead the way.

National NAIDOC week is an opportunity for all Australians to learn about First Nations cultures and histories and participate in the celebration of our community and culture.

2025 marks 50 years of NAIDOC, and the theme this year is "The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy," celebrating not only the achievements of the past but the bright future ahead.

The NAIDOC journey began as a movement for recognition and rights, sparked by Indigenous communities who saw a future built on justice and equality. Over the decades, it has grown into a powerful national celebration, a testament to the enduring strength of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Guided by the wisdom of our Elders and the groundwork laid by our forebears, each NAIDOC Week reinforces our vision for an Australia where Indigenous voices are not only heard but lead the way. (naidoc.org.au)
