Today marks the Winter Solstice here in Australia Today marks the Winter Solstice here in Australia - the shortest and darkest day of the year.

It also feels like an accurate pronouncement of the mindsets of many at the moment.

A sense of not knowing what to do next in their businesses as if we are lost deep inside of a cave, unable to see in any direction, faced with an unnerving silence and the pitch black darkness.

It can be an unsettling feeling losing our sight and it can often trick us into thinking ‘if I can’t see it, is it really there?’

When we rely solely on the validation of being able to see the physical evidence of dreams and goals, we run the risk of losing our sense of self, our hope for the future and the motivation to get up and take clear action.

The darkest day has come but today also marks a turning point, a shift towards the light and a reminder that the darkness will not last forever.

The absence of light is just as imperative for the existence of all of life and is a necessary season that we all must endure.

Our planet will inevitably continue its rotation around the sun, as it does every year and eventually the lighter days will return to guide us out of the cave.

Take some time today to consider—

🖤What might these darker days be here to teach you?

💛What preparation needs to be done in this space to lay the groundwork for your Spring time?

❤️ What lessons might you be integrating right now so as to emerge from the cave a more authentic and aligned version of yourself?

Link in bio to join our free ‘Halfway Reset’ Live Masterclass on Friday 1st July.

Happy Solstice 🖤

Hey squad—How we doing out there? I have been ch Hey squad—How we doing out there?
I have been chatting to a few of you about your businesses, energy levels & feelings about the world right now.
It seems there’s quite a lot of fear, overwhelm and uncertainty amongst us all. People are worried about the longevity of their businesses, noticing things are slow right now and have lost inspiration to promote, sell and create content.
It’s a tough time for sure.
Personally I’ve felt like my body is still recovering from covid whilst my mind is itching to get back to regular programming.
A few weeks ago I was asked to speak at an event & address the fears around the cost of living, becoming irrelevant and being left behind in the business world. It feels like this topic is on everyone’s mind right now.
My take—the world had a very chaotic start to the year off the back of 2 very draining ones. We got used to running on adrenaline & spent a lot of time trying to anticipate the ever changing environment. We were forced to constantly pivot to keep up with the ‘unprecedented times.’ We’re exhausted & are finally catching our breaths. We’re enjoying being offline after 2 years of being dependant on it as our only source of connection. We’re trying to find inspiration & gain momentum and most likely are expecting things to turn to shit again at any minute. So what can you do about it?
I aim to zoom out & observe what place I am thinking, feeling and acting from. Is it fear, anxiety, overwhelm, exhaustion? Name it & see if you can notice what triggers it and where it’s playing out in your life? Write it out, talk to someone outside of you, get professional help if you need to.
Bringing it into the light will help to understand it, make a plan to move through it and eventually heal it.

Life is a series of seasons and this one won’t last forever.Keep putting one foot in front of the other, take it slow & rest when you need to.
Lean on others for support and know that tomorrow is a new day and a chance to try again.
We’ve got this —I’ve made some worksheets & a video from our First Aid Kit available for free, link in bio to download it. Feel free to comment with topics and support you’re looking for right now. Kay x
💾 5 Hacks for Getting Yourself Out of A Busines 💾 5 Hacks for Getting Yourself Out of A Business Funk

It’s that time of the year, the half way mark is fast approaching – where did the last six months go?

As winter settles in and the days become shorter here in Australia and we find ourselves recalibrating from the chaotic start to the year, it’s not uncommon to experience a business slump, low period or personal funk that can rob us of our focus and motivation.

“Many of life’s failures are people who did not realise how close they were to success when they gave up.” THOMAS EDISON

When things slow down in your business, you have a quiet period or you find yourself lost and unmotivated, the first thing to remember is that it’s ok. Similar to most aspects of our life, business and work will also go through seasons of fruitful summers, quite Winters, new and exciting Spring times and the shedding of Autumn. The trick is to not let the down time get the better of you. Here are some strategies that I use to help me ride the lows of business:

#1. Get an outside perspective – We all need a little pep talk at times, a gentle or maybe not so gentle reminder that it’s all going to be ok & we’ll find a way through the rough patch. Find someone you trust who knows you, your business and/or can offer a fresh outside perspective. When we’re in the thick of it, fear and self doubt can quickly creep in and take over any chance you had at getting out of the funk. By outsourcing your self talk to someone who can see the bigger picture without the emotional charge (a peer, colleague, coach or mentor) you can quickly start to regain the confidence in yourself and your ability to get things back on track.

“The credit belongs to the man who is actually i “The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena.”

Even when you’re not feeling it, you’ve lost sight of the vision or you can’t quite figure out what the next step needs to be— know that being in the arena, giving it a good hard shot and being willing to ride the highs and lows of running your own business is more courageous than most who may never dare to take the leap.

Keep going, you’ve got this and the right doors will eventually open and reveal the path.
